Since 2019, Brain Canada’s Future Leaders program has funded 109 outstanding early-career researchers, who bring their talent, passion, and bold ideas to the landscape of neuroscience research to explore the great unknowns of the brain. Brain Canada will extend an invitation to all previously- and currently- funded Future Leaders (including recipients of the pilot program that preceded Future Leaders, the 2018 Early Career Capacity-Building Grants), as well as recipients of the trainee funding program, Rising Stars. At this satellite event, Brain Canada will once again be providing a forum for an in-person, half-day knowledge exchange including presentations by awardees and an opportunity to connect, network, and collaborate.
Brain Canada is committed to excellence through equity, and will promote the expression of diverse perspectives, approaches, and experiences, including those of underrepresented groups. All early-career researchers attending the event will have an opportunity to express to Brain Canada whether they would like to present their research – the final agenda will be established by Brain Canada, striving for representation from institutions across Canada, different research areas, and diverse voices.
