Brief description of event:

BrainHacks are collaborative events that focus on the open sharing of ideas, models, code, and data. They bring together brain experts and enthusiasts from a variety of backgrounds to build relationships, learn from one another, and collaborate on projects related to the neurosciences. Brainhack projects typically focus on developing advanced statistical data analysis, machine learning, computational modelling, and visualization tools and methodologies, with a focus on open-access and close collaboration with the broader international scientific community.

Due to the nature of the event, the schedule is flexible and can change frequently. With an emphasis on interoperability between tools, datasets, sharing platforms, and standards used in neuroscience research, participants at the Neuroinformatics Hackathon should come to learn, develop proposals, implement solutions, and engage in training.

We intend that events during the hackathon will run in concert with other neuroinformatics events happening during and/or around CAN-ACN. For example, the submitted “Canadian Brain Data/Neuroinformatics Landscape” Symposium and the Meeting for the Canadian Open Neuroscience Platform.

Speakers: Most of the event format will be unstructured. Two “Ignite speakers” (TBA) will introduce concepts of focus for later hacking.
