Call for Proposals for Parallel Symposia 2015
The 9th Canadian Neuroscience meeting will be held in Vancouver on May 24 – 27, 2015. The format will consist of morning Plenary Symposia and Distinguished Lectures, afternoon Parallel Symposia and poster sessions throughout the day.
Here we openly request proposals for Parallel Symposia that cover a wide range of topics in both basic and translational neuroscience. Parallel Symposia are 1.5 hours long and will be chosen based on scientific merit and whether the topic was not covered recently; a balance of junior and senior faculty, and genders of speakers is encouraged. We also wish to ensure that a wide range of neuroscience topics are represented in various symposia. The Chair may or may not be a speaker and the total number of speakers in the session should be at least 3, or a maximum of 4. Please note we cannot provide any support for travel or other expenses for symposium speakers.
Preference will be given to speakers who have not given presentations at CAN Meetings in the last two years. Recent speakers can however act as Chair of a parallel symposium.
If you would like to organize a symposium please submit your proposal online by December 1st, 2014.
Submit your parallel symposium proposal online now
Note: Only CAN members in good standing can submit a proposal. Please use this link to become a member or renew your membership if needed: http://can-acn.org/become-a-member
All proposals will be evaluated by the 2015 Scientific Program Committee, and the committee will choose twelve for presentation at the Canadian Neuroscience meeting in Vancouver.
