The Canadian Association for Neuroscience (CAN) is committed to creating an equitable and inclusive neuroscience research environment that fosters diversity through its culture and praxis. The Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Committee is seeking applicants for volunteer committee members.
The CAN EDI committee is a sub-committee of CAN and provides a forum for advising the CAN Executive Committee on all matters of significance related to equity and inclusion issues that impact CAN membership, including organizing events for the Annual Meeting. The committee is also tasked with advocating for EDI-related concerns both within and outside CAN, and liaising with other EDI efforts by neuroscience-related organizations. This position will be a 1-year term (annual meeting to annual meeting), renewable for 3 years. Meetings will occur 2-4 times per year virtually. We welcome applications from principal investigators and trainees.
Participation on this committee is an excellent opportunity to meet colleagues across the country and share knowledge on institutional EDI programs. Furthermore, this committee offers the opportunity to provide meaningful input on how Canadian Neuroscience can be a more equitable, inclusive and diverse environment.
Application deadline is August 25th, 2021. Your application will be reviewed by the EDI committee, and you will be contacted with further information.
