The Visanji lab at the Tanz centre for Research in Neurodegenerative Diseases https://tanz.med.utoronto.ca/naomi-visanji is looking to hire a post doc with an interest in performing in vivo seeding studies using human post mortem brain from patients with a variety of neurodegenerative proteinopathies (PD, MSA and PSP).
The successful candidate will have a research interest in studying neurodegenerative disease-associated proteins using a range of techniques including at the molecular, cellular and in vivo level.
Candidates should be well versed in standard molecular techniques, including protein extraction and analyses, immunohistochemistry, microscopy, Western Blot and cell culture.
Familiarity working with transgenic mice, including stereotaxic surgery and behavioural analyses would be a strong asset.
