Graduate student position in Neurophotonics and Vision, Vanni laboratory, Université de Montréal

The Neurophotonics Lab at the School of Optometry of the University of Montreal is looking for master and summer students. The goal of the project will be to set up a photonic platform to measure and manipulate brain functions in awake mice performing visual cognitive tasks. These functions will be evaluated in different models of ischemia or for the development of neuroprosthesis to restore vision. This project will combine different approaches to neurophotonics such as calcium imaging or optogenetics. The student will be responsible for the collection of functional data and their analysis (Matlab). He/She will also be able to participate in surgical procedures and device development (optics, electronics, coding) according to his/her skills and interests.
