The Thiele Lab at the University of Toronto is recruiting a Postdoctoral Scholar for 2019 to work with a Human Frontiers Science Program team (U of Toronto, UC Berkeley, Univ of Maryland and Univ of Tübingen) that is investigating population level neural activity and behavior in zebrafish and African cichlids evoked by natural underwater scenes. This is a new and exciting area of research that combines two-photon calcium imaging and novel behavioural assays to assess how natural scenes are encoded in the brain and how this differs across species and habitats. We are seeking a candidate that has a systems neuroscience background and coding experience. We encourage applicants that are underrepresented in science to apply.
Salary will be commensurate on experience, medical benefits are included
