A postdoctoral position in translational neuroscience is available in the Departments of Anesthesia and Physiology in the laboratory of Dr. Beverley Orser (www.orserlab.com) at the University of Toronto. Our research focuses on the role of GABAA receptors in regulating network plasticity, memory, and mood disorders.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing either a program that identifies cell signaling pathways involved in memory disorders or a program that studies behavior as it relates to cognition in rodents.

Qualified candidates should have experience in biochemistry, proteomics, biomarker research and/or behavioral and computational methods. Prior experience with electrophysiology, optogenetic, and animal behavioral assays are also assets. The candidate must possess a good record of scientific publications, organizational skills, self-motivation and the ability to work well independently as well as in a team environment.
