A postdoctoral position in translational neuroscience is available in the Departments of Anesthesia and Physiology in the laboratory of Dr. Beverley Orser ( at the University of Toronto. Our research focuses on the role of GABAA receptors in regulating network plasticity, memory, and mood disorders.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing either a program that identifies cell signaling pathways involved in memory disorders or a program that studies behavior as it relates to cognition in rodents.

Qualified candidates should have experience in biochemistry, proteomics, biomarker research and/or behavioral and computational methods. Prior experience with electrophysiology, optogenetic, and animal behavioral assays are also assets. The candidate must possess a good record of scientific publications, organizational skills, self-motivation and the ability to work well independently as well as in a team environment.
