Postdoctoral Position in Synaptic Plasticity – Christie Laboratory University of Victoria

A post-doctoral position is available immediately for individuals with prior experience in electrophysiology, preferably with whole-cell patch-clamp experience. You will join an enthusiastic team studying mechanisms of brain plasticity in one of the most scenic campuses in North America, and you position will include training in grant writing, program management, and student supervision, to help enable you to seamlessly transition to faculty position in the future. The laboratory itself is extremely well equipped with 7 visualized electrophysiology rigs, 4 in vivo electrophysiology rigs, confocal and fluorescence microscopy, as well as access to a wide array of biochemical and gene-analysis techniques. Our affiliation with the proteomics center at UVic also offers opportunities for training in cutting edge techniques.
