Postdoc dans le sud? Postdoc in the south? A postdoctoral research position is available immediately in the laboratory of Dr. Perreault at the Department of Physiology at Emory University, Atlanta, Georgia. We are seeking driven individuals to join a NIH funded research program on the role of reticulospinal pathways in control of movement and function recovery. The candidate will be joining a vibrant and interactive community in integrative neurophysiology and be offered access to numerous career development workshops and services (https://med.emory.edu/postdoc). The salary is commensurate with the candidate’s experience.
The project will investigate mechanisms related to reticulospinal control of motor and autonomic spinal circuits and assess their neural and circuit representation in the developing mouse. The field of subcortical motor control is vastly unexplored and is wide open for fruitful research. Experiments will be conducted by applying existing experimental methods (calcium imaging, electrophysiology, laser scanning photostimulation) and developing new ones.
Applicants must hold a PhD in Neuroscience or Biophysics. Priority will be given to candidates who have solid dissection skills and proven track record of research experience with electrophysiology and/or live calcium imaging techniques. The ideal candidate has as obtained his/her Ph.D. no more than 3 years ago. He/she is enthusiastic, creative, driven, takes initiative as well as advice, and has excellent organizational skills and ability to work under strict timelines. The candidates will have English knowledge, superior writing skills and will communicate progress effectively with the PI and other lab members.
